Welcome
For the next half hour, you run a 3PL. Trentside Logistics is a made-up, owner-run warehouse business in Nottingham, with ten staff, one warehouse and eight clients. It has been trading in Stockist for just over a year, so everything you open has real history behind it.
Nothing here is a mock-up. Every delivery, hold, stock count and status change was made by the same actions you would use, by the people named in each record. Click around freely: the stories are there to be explored.
This guide helps you find the good bits:
- Sign in as the owner below to see the whole business.
- Start here, at the end of this page, has three short guided walks, from 5 to 30 minutes.
- Each client page tells one client's story and gives you things to try.
Dates in the demo are relative to the day it was set up. When a client page says a delivery is "due this afternoon", look for it on today's dock.
Every demo login uses the password password. Start as Sarah, the owner. Later, sign in as one of the clients to see how the same warehouse looks from their side.
| Sign in as | Who you'll be | What you'll see |
|---|---|---|
| sarah.whitfield@trentside.example | Sarah, Managing Director and owner of Trentside | The whole business: every client, all the stock and every warehouse screen. Start here. |
| helen.brooks@trentside.example | Helen, the Warehouse Manager | The warehouse as the person who runs it day to day. |
| jamie.kerr@trentside.example | Jamie, the Floor Supervisor | The floor team's view: scanning, receiving and moving stock. |
| ellie@northernthread.example | Ellie, founder of Northern Thread, a client | Only her own company: its account, people, stock and deliveries. |

Tip: press F2 anywhere in the warehouse screens to open the Rapid Scanner, then type a code such as A-01-A-1 to see what's in that location.
Your warehouse
You have one site, Colwick Distribution Centre in Nottingham. To see it drawn with how full each location is, open Warehouses → Warehouse Floorplan.
A few things worth a look:
- Door 4 is the hazmat bay. It is the only door, and the cage the only storage, rated for dangerous goods such as lithium batteries. Stockist won't put hazardous stock anywhere that isn't rated for it.
- Quarantine bays hold stock that can't be sold yet: damaged, expired or waiting for a quality check. Quarantined loose stock can only be moved to another quarantine bay.
- Racking position D-08-D-2 is out of use. A reach truck clipped its upright nine days ago, and it's waiting for a safety inspection. Find it on the floorplan.
- Every pallet and tote has a barcode, such as PAL-000012. Your team uses four container types: UK pallets, Euro pallets, hazmat pallets and picking totes.
Your team
Stockist records who did what and when, so you'll meet these names in every history you open. Five run the business as Admins; five work the floor as Warehouse Operatives, who can do the warehouse work but can't change client accounts.
| Person | Job | You'll find them… |
|---|---|---|
| Sarah Whitfield | Managing Director (you) | Opening your newest client this week |
| Mark Okafor | Finance Manager | Placing and lifting credit holds |
| Priya Desai | Account Manager | Looking after Hebden, Peak Fuel, Oakfield and Brew Republic |
| Tom Gallagher | Account Manager | Looking after Northern Thread, Kestrel, Tidy Paws and Lumen & Loom |
| Helen Brooks | Warehouse Manager | Setting up the warehouse, deciding what happens to damaged stock, and letting in a delivery during a hold |
| Jamie Kerr | Floor Supervisor | Booking in a delivery that arrived without warning |
| Dan Price and Aisha Khan | Goods In | Receiving at the dock, including the delivery happening right now |
| Lukasz Nowak | Reach Truck Driver | Putting stock away and moving pallets |
| Chloe Evans | Stock Controller | Counting stock and correcting a serial number |
Your clients have their own people too. A client admin can manage their own contacts and logins without calling you, and a client user can check their own stock and deliveries.
Your clients
Your eight clients sit at every stage of a client's life with a 3PL, from signing up to leaving. Open Clients to see them all, then click any client to open its Client 360: one page with its status, health, rules, people and full history.
| Client | What they sell | Status | Explore this client to see… |
|---|---|---|---|
| Northern Thread Co. | Organic streetwear | Active | A delivery arriving right now, damaged and short deliveries, a surprise delivery, stock counts, and a client that manages its own logins |
| Hebden Botanicals | Natural skincare | Active | Batch numbers and best-before dates, a collapsed pallet, an expired batch, and a batch on quality hold |
| Kestrel Audio | Headphones and speakers | Active | Serial numbers, pallets received with one scan, a missing pallet, and lithium batteries in the hazmat cage |
| Peak Fuel Nutrition | Sports supplements | On Hold | A credit hold over unpaid invoices, and a delivery let in during the hold |

Start here
Pick a walk that fits your time. Each one starts signed in as Sarah, the owner.
5 minutes: your business at a glance
- Open Clients. Eight accounts, each with a status, so you can see at once who is live, who is new, who is leaving and who is on hold.
- Open Peak Fuel. Read why Finance put them on hold, and compare it with the polite message the client sees. Then scroll down to the delivery your Warehouse Manager let in anyway, and why.
- Open Inbound → Inbound Shipments and find Northern Thread's INB-000023. It's being unloaded at door 1 right now.
15 minutes: a day in the warehouse
Do the 5-minute walk, then:
- Open Hebden Botanicals and its stock in Inventory → Inventory Items. Every item carries a batch number and best-before date. Find the serum batch on quality hold and read who held it and why.
- Open Kestrel Audio's next delivery, INB-000022. The shipping notice is already in: each pallet, its barcode and every serial number inside it. When it arrives, one scan per pallet receives it.
- Open Warehouses → Warehouse Floorplan to see how full your racking is, and find the bay that's out of use.
- Press F2 and scan a location, a pallet or a product to see what's there.
30 minutes: see it from your client's side
Do the 15-minute walk, then:
- Sign out and sign in as Ellie (ellie@northernthread.example). She sees only her own company. Open her account page, invite a colleague or add a contact, and notice she didn't need to call Trentside to do it.
- Sign in as Raj (raj@peakfuel.example) to see how a hold looks to the client: clear, but without Finance's internal notes.
- Sign back in as Sarah and open Lumen & Loom, signed this week. Work through its go-live checklist yourself, then compare it with Brew Republic, which is ready to go live.
Each client page has more to try.
Trentside Logistics, its people and its clients are made up for this demo. Every login uses the password password.
